DevOps Engineer

Full Time (on-site)

NEWMEDIA is searching for a DevOps Engineer with experience in rapidly and effectively transitioning a company's ideas through the entire software development lifecycle from conception to development to deployment. This individual will have an enthusiastic team spirit, excellent programming skills, problem-solving abilities and a strong work ethic.

NEWMEDIA is full service digital agency this is actively increasing its focus in this space. We started the Drupal DevOps Meetup and we’re actively contributing code and solutions to this space. We’re are highly collaborative team that is passionate about constantly improving our processes for ourselves as well as our existing brand-name clients such Six Flags, University of Colorado, Amtrak, Delta Airlines, Colorado School of Mines, Doc Popcorn, Clyfford Still Museum, YMCA, and Massage Envy.

Required Skills and/or Experiences

  • A passion to “Automate All the Things.”
  • The ability to debug issues that may not show up in a google search.
  • Atttention to detail (did you catch the mistake?).
  • The ability to break down complex problems into manageable and solvable parts.
  • Experience with agile scrum and kanban (bonus points if you can highlight the pros and cons of each from the perspective of various team member roles).
  • Experience in development because you must be comfortable enough to write code.
  • Experience in IT operations because you must be comfortable enough to configure servers.
  • Ability to communicate and interface with developers, operations, and business owners.
  • Experience with open source DevOps tools such as chef, puppet, ansible, etc.
  • Experience with setting up, configuring, and maintaining a LAMP stack as well as other permutations (LEMP, etc)
  • Knowledge and a track record for adhering to security best practices.
  • A passion for life-long learning (both personally and professionally).
  • The ability to share/learn in a collaborative atmosphere.
  • 4 year degree in computer science or related field OR a digital signature to prove you have the chops.
  • 2-3 years of experience in this field.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate with clients to assess business needs, uncover pain points, and identify bottlenecks in order to create solutions that address a variety of business objectives from multiple stakeholders.
  • Implementing DevOps solutions (create, modify, refactor) whenever applicable to improve automation.
  • Performing audits (performance, security, backups, testing, etc).
  • Streamlining the deployment process for Drupal and other web applications.
  • Systems architecture for high availability and high performance systems.
  • Open source collaboration and code contributions when appropriate.
  • Knowledge transfer through documentation, training, presentations, blogging, etc.

NEWMEDIA is seeking a detail-oriented, energetic front-end developer to join our team in lower downtown Denver, Colorado.

What we are looking for:
Looking for a motivated individual who enjoys working in a collaborative environment to bring ideas, mockups, and designs to life. You will be working with a team of designers, developers, and project managers to theme and build out Drupal websites.
