- About Us
Doc Popcorn started off as a small Colorado-based franchise organization, with a web presence to match. When they came to NewMedia! they had just completed a new branding effort, and were in the early stages of large-scale planned franchise growth. The new websites needed to support these goals.
Elegant simplicity, family-friendly, brand-specific and "fun" were the design criteria for the public-facing sides of the sites, and we developed two separate versions - one for the general public, and one for potential and existing franchisees. Each keeps a consistent and friendly theme, ranks well in the search engines for relevant keyword phrases (specific to both the company and product, and to the business opportunity aspect of the franchise organization). We centralized the ecommerce aspect, versus using a third party provider beforehand, and integrated FedEx and UPS tools directly within the new site so that shipping and tracking was all managed easily from one location. For franchisees, our new website allows each location to have their own customizable "mini website" with a combination design standards controlled by corporate and the individual freedom and flexibility per owner to add and manage their own content, and the entire system is driven by the Drupal CMS.
Since the project began, Doc Popcorn has grown dramatically, from fewer than 30 domestic-only locations to over 100 locations in development in both the United States and internationally. NewMedia! has supported our client through this growth, from a technical consulting and hands-on management perspective, including taking over the hosting from another large, respected vendor when their solution proved both insufficient for the traffic and insecure. As the client said:
"As a fast-growing global franchise system, Doc Popcorn required a platform on which we could expand and grow. NewMedia's solid project management methodology, coupled with top-notch programming capabilities, helped me to translate my website vision into a reality. I appreciated the team's patience with revisions that needed to be made along the way, and with my learning curve in understanding and adapting to Drupal technology. NewMedia! still helps with site maintenance, and when an emergency arose recently, they responded quickly--much appreciated!"
